AMCAW GRANTS & AWARDS PROGRAM

Mastery Modules

AMCAW Wants to Help You Grow Your Metal Clay Skills

Thank you for applying for a grant to participate in AMCAW’s Mastery Modules program. Your participation in the grant process helps AMCAW fulfill its mission. The Mastery Modules grant is not based on financial need or current skill level; it is awarded to the most compelling application.

AMCAW’s Mission
“To encourage a flourishing international metal clay community by nurturing artistic and instructional excellence and providing resources to inspire, engage and support artists of all levels. AMCAW will help to unify the metal clay community regardless of brand or formula preference, experience level, or location. The organization will introduce metal clay to new users and bolster the reputation of metal clay in the greater arts community.”

About the Mastery Modules Grant
This grant encourages, recognizes, and supports makers working with metal clay who want to further their practice. Whether your goal is to expand your skill set, define your artistic point of view, or add an accreditation to your teaching CV, this opportunity is for you.

Learn more on the Mastery Modules website and the Program Overview. Most questions are answered in the FAQs, and descriptions of the individual projects appear under The Challenges drop-down menu.

The Grant Award
The $500 award consists of two $250 coupons for use in the Mastery Modules registration system. The self-guided program is covered in full. If you choose the guided program, you’ll cover the difference: $75 with your first registration payment and $75 with your second.

Grant Period
One full module must be completed, with all challenge projects submitted for evaluation, within nine months of the award date. (The “Any Seven” option is not eligible. See the Timelines section of the FAQs for information about extensions.)

Eligibility
Anyone can apply. However, if selected to receive a grant or award, they must become members prior to acceptance. Conflict of Interest Policy.

Acknowledgment
Publications, media productions, and public announcements about your Mastery Modules experience should include the statement below, along with your AMCAW Grant Award badge. Acknowledgments are required for at least one year from the end of the grant period.

“My participation in the Mastery Modules program was made possible in part with support from a grant awarded by the Alliance for Metal Clay Arts Worldwide (AMCAW).”

Your AMCAW Grant Award badge will be provided at the end of the grant period, once you submit a testimonial about your Mastery Modules experience.

Awards and Benefits
In addition to the grant benefits above, participants who successfully complete the Mastery Modules receive a printed Certificate of Accomplishment and a downloadable Completion badge for use on promotional materials, business cards, your website, and elsewhere. AMCAW may promote grant recipients and their work.
