  • You will be asked to log in or create an account if you haven’t already done so.
  • The first time you place a bid you will be asked to provide payment information.
    • Payment information is required to ensure that all bids are real (no fake bids messing things up).
  • Betterworld offers a great feature called Max Bid – Auto Bid which allows you to set a maximum amount that you are willing to bid on the item. If someone outbids you, Betterworld will automatically increase your bid by the increment amount, up to the maximum you have set.
    • Click here for more information on this feature.

Bidding Closes (5pm ET on 5 May 2025):

    • Your bid constitutes a contract to buy the piece if you are the highest bidder.
    • The highest bid when the auction closes will be the winner, and this will be deemed final.
    • AMCAW will put the donor and winning bidder in contact to arrange for delivery.
    • Physical Auction Items:

      • Most auction items will be shipped directly from the donor to the winning bidder.
      • A few auction items will be shipped from the AMCAW Auction Administrator. A $10 shipping fee will be added to the final bid to cover AMCAW’s costs.
      • The recipient is wholly responsible for an import duty, customs charges and/or tax applied at the point of delivery. AMCAW is not responsible for any other charges applied.
    • Virtual Auction Items:

      About Fees:

      Processing Fees:

      • AMCAW pays a fee for each credit card transaction.
      • BetterWorld provides an option which allows you, the bidder, to help AMCAW cover these fees.
      • The exact amount is specified for the bid that you are placing and is a percentage of the amount bid.
      • Agreeing to cover the credit card fees is COMPLTELY OPTIONAL.  However, clicking on “Yes, count me in” helps AMCAW keep more of the funds raised to apply to the programs that support our members.

        Fundraising Costs:

        • These are fees to help support BetterWorld. This option helps BetterWorld to keep the platform free for nonprofits.  BetterWord is asking for assistance to help cover the costs of developing and maintaining their platform.
        • On the right-hand side of the bid page, there is a summary which details your Bid Amount, as well as an item titled “Help cover fundraising costs ?”
        • Click on the “?” to see more about this option.
        • Click “here” to get options to change or decline the amount that will go to BetterWorld.
          • You can choose a different amount or decline completely by click on “I’d prefer not to contribute at this time”.
        • AMCAW does NOT receive any of the funds in this category.  It is completely optional to you as the bidder if you wish to contribute to help with these costs.

AMCAW is a U.S. 501 (c) (3) nonprofit charitable organization and uses  the funds raised from these events to sustain our work. In addition to operating expenses and program development such as educational opportunities, mini-grants, SINTER, Metal Clay Live, Virtual Guild, Artistic Challenges, and Educational Resource Center, these programs attract other metal clay artists from around the world.
