The Alliance for Metal Clay Arts (AMCAW) is a not-for-profit organization based in the United States, serving the global metal clay community. The work of AMCAW is done by volunteers. Information and Usage Policies

The information presented on amcaw.org and our social media channels is accurate to the best of our knowledge. AMCAW is not responsible for the accuracy of any technical information presented. AMCAW is not responsible for any harm or injury you may encounter as a result of the information presented.

Member, instructor and class/event listings are provided and maintained by the individual or organizational members who enter this information. AMCAW is not responsible for the accuracy of this user-provided data.

From time to time, the AMCAW website may be unavailable due to maintenance or host server issues. AMCAW is not responsible for any harm caused by these periodic outages.

Tutorial and Giveaway Policies

All tutorials are copyrighted; you may not share, duplicate or distribute this content. You are encouraged to make the pieces detailed in the tutorials for your personal use, but you may not duplicate these pieces for sale. AMCAW is not responsible for the accuracy of the content in these tutorials. AMCAW is not responsible for any harm or injury you may encounter as a result of these tutorials.

Who we are

Alliance for Metal Clay Arts Worldwide (AMCAW) will be responsible for any data collected, so when we reference or mention ‘we’, ‘our’ ‘us’, we are talking about AMCAW, a not-for-profit corporation. What personal data do we collect?

If you subscribe to our email newsletter, we collect your name and email address.

If you become a member of AMCAW, we collect your name, address, phone and email. You may optionally provide additional information including, but not limited to, your social media usernames along with your preferences, interests and class offerings.

If you interact with us via social media, we collect your name and social media username.

When do we collect your personal data?

Who do we share your personal data with?

We will never sell any of your personal data to a third party. However, in order for us to provide our services to you, we share your personal data with our trusted third party service providers, as detailed below. Whenever we share your personal data, we put safeguards in place which require these organizations to keep your data safe and to ensure that they do not use your personal data for their own marketing purposes.

EXAMPLES OF THE SORT OF THIRD PARTIES WE WORK WITH ARE:

  • IT companies who support our business systems and databases
  • Marketing companies who help manage our communications with you
  • Providers who facilitate webinars or other services

It is in our legitimate interests as a business to work with these service providers since we may not have the capabilities to provide these services ourselves. How long do we keep your data?

In broad terms, we will only retain your personal data for as long as is necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. This means that the retention periods will vary according to the type of the data and the reason that we have the data in the first place.

We have procedures in place regarding our retention periods which we keep under review taking into account our reasons for processing your personal data and the legal basis for doing so.

  • require us to correct any mistakes in your personal data
  • require us to delete personal data concerning you in certain situations where there is no good reason for us to continue to process it

  • otherwise restrict or temporarily stop our processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
