About the Artist – Helen Sang, Estonia
I have always been surrounded by people, who take pride in handicraft and so the love for creation has been passed on to me as well. It is one of my greatest joys to see something beautiful take form in my hands and I like to tell the stories of each individual piece of jewelry.
Many ideas for the next piece are found in nature. As I live close to wilderness, there is always a chance to find unique patterns, beautiful flowers and leaves, mystical mushrooms, ancient moss and so much more.
Jewelry contests present a good challenge to try and create something new and unique. The pieces I have presented there, have over the years grown- at least in size, but perhaps they have also grown in personality.
I started creating silver jewelry in 2009 but silver clay still continues to inspire me, as this material provides almost endless opportunities to create unique designs. Today I have participated in classes in UK, Finland and Germany enabling me to practice as Art Clay senior instructor. I truly like teaching but also learning a bit from each student.
